Local-first iPad app. No account. No first-party analytics or ads. Your library stays on your device.
This page describes privacy for the Songscript iPad app (version 0.9.0 and the current App Store listing). It is written so it cannot overclaim what the app does.
Songscript is a paid-upfront music app for performing musicians. It is local-first: your charts, setlists, and library live on your device.
What Songscript does not do
- No account or login. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No in-app purchases or subscriptions. You pay once for the app download.
- No first-party analytics, advertising, or Songscript backend that receives your library or performance data.
- No iCloud sync in 0.9.0. Cloud sync is disabled in this release.
Where your data lives
Songscript stores your library with SwiftData and local files on the device. You control exports (including library backup). We recommend exporting a library backup before major OS upgrades or device changes.
System APIs with required reasons
The app declares only these required-reason APIs (Apple privacy manifests):

These stay on device as part of normal app operation. They are not used to fingerprint you for advertising.
Optional permissions (user-granted, on-device)
If you choose to use related features, Songscript may request:
- Calendar — only after you grant access; used on-device for the features that need it.
- Microphone — only after you grant access; used on-device for the features that need it.
You can deny either permission. Core chart and Stage use does not require them.
Crash reports and TestFlight feedback
- Apple opt-in crash reporting may send crash diagnostics to Apple when you have system analytics sharing enabled. Songscript does not run a separate first-party crash pipeline that uploads your library.
- TestFlight feedback (while testing pre-release builds) is Apple’s channel. Use it only if you intend Apple and the developer to see that feedback.

Scope and updates
This policy covers the native Songscript iPad app as listed on the App Store for 0.9.0. The separate songscript.app website is a different product surface and may use standard web hosting tooling (for example CDN analytics on the host platform). Changes that affect how the iPad app handles personal data will be reflected here and in App Store privacy answers when we ship them.
